A catchy music for a video clip shot in Brussels

It was during the summer of 2016 that the singer Daddy Waku contacted us. He wanted to make a video clip for his new single ‘out of time’. A catchy music with a soul and funk sound, in the tradition of Bruno Mars and Donny Hattaway.

At the time, Brussels had just suffered the attacks and we wanted to create positive images in the capital. We then proposed to make a video that would be a tribute to its inhabitants. And for this we were inspired in part by the video ‘Happy’ by Pharell Williams.

The artist was delighted with the idea but he also wanted to add a choreographed part to show the dancing side of the track.

We also imagined showing the artist in a time shift. That’s why we shot an introductory scene in which everyone but the artist freezes. Afterwards, we filmed him while he was singing in slow motion, in order to obtain a contrast between him and the passers-by in the street.

The shooting in Brussels took place on a – fortunately – sunny day. We were able to enjoy the typical places of the capital like the Galeries de la Reine, the Marolles, the Foire du Midi, etc… Good to know: if you want to organize a light shooting in the capital, the permits are free of charge in the municipality of 1000 Brussels.

The clip of Out of Time had a great career on social networks and allowed the artist to add a funk touch to his image. The artist was able to participate in the editing and color grading of his video, which allowed him to maintain control over the production.
